An original lithograph by Agnes Martin (1912–2004), titled Innocence, printed in colour on vellum in 2000.

This work reflects one of Martin’s late minimalist compositions, characterised by extremely subtle horizontal bands and refined tonal variation. The near-monochromatic surface and restrained geometry exemplify the quiet, meditative visual language for which the artist is widely celebrated.

Innocence is derived from Martin’s 1999 body of work, a period in which she revisited her signature format of horizontal bands with heightened clarity and sensitivity. These compositions are among the most sought-after expressions of her mature practice.

Agnes Martin is regarded as one of the most important figures in post-war abstraction. Her work is held in the permanent collections of major institutions including the Museum of Modern Art (New York), the Guggenheim Museum, Tate, and the National Gallery of Art.

This print is particularly well suited to minimalist interiors and can be displayed either as a standalone work or as part of a larger wall arrangement.

Excellent overall condition. Sold unframed. Additional photographs available upon request.
