Original Montana Tea poster by Lode Sebregts, an authentic Belgian Art Deco advertising poster from circa 1930.

This is the sort of piece that explains why the best interwar advertising posters are collected as art in their own right. Sebregts takes a simple commercial subject, a box of tea and a polished spoon, and gives it the scale, poise, and theatrical clarity of a stage set. The result is bold, graphic, and unexpectedly luxurious: a design that feels as crisp now as it must have done in the early 1930s.

What makes the composition so effective is its restraint. There is no domestic scene, no chatter, no visual clutter. Instead, everything is reduced to a few perfectly judged elements: the black-and-gold tea chest, the gleaming spoon with its red handle, the cool blue shadow, and the monumental red lettering above and below. It is a poster built on confidence rather than excess, and that is exactly why it has such strong wall presence.

The bilingual French and Dutch copy gives the piece an extra layer of character and fixes it firmly in its Belgian setting. It works beautifully on several levels at once: as an original advertising poster, as a refined Art Deco decorative object, and as a striking example of early twentieth-century graphic design.

This is an original vintage poster, not a reproduction. It is newly professionally linen backed and presents beautifully.
